Dave (certificate18) and a squad of epic volunteers have cranked up the excitement, taking this event to new heights. Expect a weekend like no other!
We're talking games and events that coax even the shyest gamers out of their shells, sparking fierce competitions among both familiar and new faces. Relax in chill zones designed for those who just want to vibe with their tribe.
Brace yourself for the legendary Nail Game and Quad Shot challenges, plus a Saturday night quiz that feels more like a mosh pit than a quiet gathering. You might just find yourself saying, “I don't think I turned my computer on…” joining the ranks of altLAN legends.
Oh, and one more thing - this is a BYOB event, so bring your favourite drinks! But remember, altLAN is strictly for the 18+ crew only 😉. Get ready to unplug, connect, and celebrate in the most thrilling way possible!

CHAD / CHADWe are an over 18's event. This is a break away from the everyday and a chance to let your hair down so to speak and we cannot cater for any youngsters because of this.

Absolutely. There is limited kitchen access (think kettle, microwave etc), and we'll supply some basics for tea and coffee. There's usually a mass takeaway order or two floating around, and of course, there will be a COLD FOOD SELECTION made avalible each morning which is included in your ticket.
It's not the Ritz, but we have showers and bathrooms for both genders. The bedroooms and bathrooms area are in a seperate wing from the gaming hall.
A collection of shared bunk-bed rooms down two wings, everyone in single size beds, be prepared to share rooms with a couple of other attendees, but we're far from crammed in.
Everyone will be greatful if you didn't. You'll be encroaching on your neighbours space. A single monitor, below 32inch is sensible.
Power is a major issue with this much equipment setup, so we can't accomodate these unfortunately, we'll do everything we can to make you comfortable of course, and there are fridges available, as well as the more low-fi 'bucket o' cold water'.
Yep, right by the main hall as well, we do ask that after you've unloaded you move a little further away so everyone gets the easiest loading and unloading experience.
We have been running these kind of gaming events for many years now and we are pleased to say we have never had any issues regarding missing equipment etc.
Of course you can never say never and we hope that by having all attendees registered and by having event admins present and the fact that a few people are always awake even in the very late hours your equipment will be safe.
Beyond pride and bragging rights? No. We are all about inclusivity at altLAN, and will do everything in our power to level the playing field to offer friendly competition that can be enjoyed by everyone.
altLAN is fundamentally a community get-together, but we can only do that so often, right? In the meantime you can find us lurking in our Discord, playing all manner of games in smaller groups, and getting together for quizes, drinking sessions and party games.
If you don't fancy getting that close, you can keep tabs on our big movements on Facebook. Events and get-togethers will be announced there, even if the good people of Discord find out a little sooner 😉
